One practical application of our Care for One Another Core Value is that we seek to provide excellent benefits for all our staff so they can focus on the ministry God has called them to.
All DiscipleMakers staff who receive a paycheck are covered by an excellent health insurance plan (including prescription coverage) through Capital Blue Cross. Monthly premiums are paid pre-tax out of each staff's ministry account, as are all other health-related expenses, such as doctor visit copays, prescription copays, and expenses incurred prior to reaching the deductible ($2,000/year).
All staff who have attained full support are encouraged to participate in our 401(k) plan through Vanguard. Staff may contribute up to 25% of their gross salary, with 10% of the contribution coming out of the staff's paycheck, and 90% coming out of the staff's ministry account pre-tax.
