Info

God is Good! The Scriptures assert over and over and over again that God is GOOD. In fact, He Himself defines good. Our theme for the DiscipleMakers 2010 Fall Conference is The Goodness of God Displayed. We'll get to see the goodness of God through His gifts, His cross, and His discipline. Come join us!

The DiscipleMakers Fall Conference starts on Friday, Oct. 29 at 6:30pm, and ends on Sunday, Oct. 31 at 2pm.  Click on the tabs for more info!

Theme

“You have dealt well with your servant, O LORD, according to your word.... You are good and do good." Psalm 119:65, 68

The Goodness of God Displayed

The Scriptures assert over and over and over again that God is GOOD. In fact, He Himself defines good. Every good thing comes from Him. His storehouses are stockpiled with good things for His people (Psalm 31:19). Really? In the face of evil and suffering in the world it may seem at times that Scripture is mistaken, if not just plain wrong. At times in life it can feel like nothing more than empty wishing that God would be good.

Yet the Bible unwaveringly stands on the fact that God, by nature, without fail, was, is and always will be, GOOD. Fall Conference 2010 will explore the Goodness of God and how we experience it. We will look at three primary ways that God is good to His people and consider the application for us.

Main Sessions

  • Session 1 - The Goodness of God Displayed in His Blessing
  • Session 2 - The Goodness of God Displayed in His Cross
  • Session 3 - The Goodness of God Displayed in His Discipline

Tracks

The "gospel" is the good news of Jesus Christ and what He did in His life, death, and resurrection. Our tracks and main teaching sessions serve to highlight this good news, exploring different aspects of it and how it affects our daily lives and the world around us. Come find out about this amazing good news!

If you have never attended a DiscipleMakers Conference before, we recommend that you attend Track I.  Please talk with your Campus Staff about which Track would be best for you.

TRACK I - Foundations of the Gospel

Why were most of Jesus' conflicts with faithful religious leaders? Why was Jesus' ministry so attractive to prostitutes, tax collectors and outcasts?

Join us as we explore a biblical picture of what it means to know Jesus and to be his disciple. Whether you are exploring faith in Christ, new to faith, or mature in faith, we invite you to unpack and discover the transformation that happens when we encounter the radical Gospel of Jesus Christ.

TRACK II - The Gospel-Driven Life

The gospel fundamentally transforms our relationship with God and our relationships with others. No longer are we cut off from the Father; now we are His beloved children and ministers of His gospel of peace to others. What does a life driven by the gospel look like? Come explore the Sermon on the Mount with us to see how Jesus explained it.

This Track has a pre-course assignment which is to be completed before you arrive at the conference.

TRACK III - The Gospel Ministered: Discipleship

Jesus tells us to, "go and make disciples." How do we learn to do this? If you want to be godly and make disciples you must know the Word. We don't need better or more programs designed to make disciples, but we need men and women of character who know the Word, know how to handle the Word, and seek to invest what they have learned into others.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 says that the Word is what we need to be thoroughly equipped for ministry. Nothing else needs to be added to it! During the course of the weekend we will study 2 Timothy in depth. As we do our goals are two-fold:

  1. Come away with practical disciple-making tools and
  2. Develop a vision for a life of disciple-making.

This Track has a pre-course assignment which is to be completed before you arrive at the conference.

TRACK IV - The Gospel and Culture

God's plan in the Bible is to reach the whole world, every nook and cranny. Everything is His by right - every people group, every generation, every last inch. As with Abraham, God starts working personally to transform the individual, but his end game is to heal the whole world. This track will go beyond personal implications, and focus on the Gospel's corporate dynamics as evidenced through the church's impact on institutions and cultures throughout history.
