Breakout Sessions

Who Are You? Finding Your True Self
Andy Cimbala

Who are you? What is your identity? How do you find your true self? There are so many options today, and it can be a confusing search. You've heard messages about who you should be from family, friends, and social media. You've also heard slogans like, "Be true to yourself! Follow your heart." How can we find true freedom and a thriving life amidst these conflicting answers? Join us to examine today's cultural messages about identity formation, and learn how Jesus graciously invites us to receive something better.

Small Talk - How Little Conversations Can Have a Big Impact
Keith Evans & Madi Wenger

Small talk. Love it or hate it, every single relationship in our lives began with small talk. It’s an art and a skill that we need to help us in developing relationships and loving our neighbors. In this breakout, we will focus on a biblical vision for small talk as well as principles and practicals to guide our little conversations that can have a big impact.

Unashamed Evangelism
Tori Zbinden

We know we have the best news in the world but often feel ashamed or scared to share it. This workshop will consider what the scripture says about the core truths about humanity and how that can empower us to share the gospel unashamed.

Chasing the Wind: Finding Direction When Life Is Confusing
Ben Hagerup

Sometimes life feels like a maze. Sometimes life feels pointless. Join us as we explore Ecclesiastes to understand how to navigate the maze and experience meaning in a world of futility.

Mission Possible
Nick Smartt

The opportunity available on campus to follow Christ’s command to “make disciples of all nations”

Am I Really a Christian?
Peter Krol

Perhaps you have trusted in the Lord Jesus, but you can't escape a few nagging doubts. Have you sinned big enough, or frequently enough, to mess it up? And what about the voices competing in your head, voices which leave you wondering what is really true and whether you could truly be a child of God? Can you really know whether you are a true Christian? According to the Bible, yes. You can know. In fact, God wants you to know. Such knowledge doesn't require codeword access into the mysteries of the universe, but it will require you to get brutally honest about some pretty personal questions. In this workshop we'll explore what the Bible says about the observable differences between those who have eternal life and those who do not.

“I’ll Do It Tomorrow”: How to Beat Procrastination
Mike Chartowich

Do you always find yourself doing things at the last minute? Have you let people down by missing deadlines? Or maybe you are diligent in some areas like school but put off other things like hard conversations or big life decisions. In this workshop we will discuss the causes of procrastination and the spiritual remedies. We will also look at some practical strategies you can start even before you leave the conference!

Eternity: How to Have Peace in a World of Chaos
David and Megan Royes

People, pandemic, politics. Fighting, failure, finals: the world is a pretty complicated place that can leave us unsettled and angry. But what if true peace was available? Together we will consider how the reality of eternity gives Christians a unique perspective and identity that fuels our joy and guards true peace.

The Remedy to Loneliness
Shannon Fodale

Loneliness. We all struggle with it, but we’re often ashamed to admit it. God addresses this issue in the first few pages of the Bible. Learn how to make friends and find true friendship with God.

Self-Care: Explored and Exposed
Brian Seay

We live in unsettled times. More than ever there is a call to good “self-care” to maintain ourselves in the midst of it. But how does this suggestion square up to the Biblical calling to “deny yourself, pick up your cross, and follow” Jesus? In this breakout we’ll explore the Scriptures to find the answer.

The Healing of Shame: The Rescue of God in Ezekiel 16
Mark Fodale

Can shame be healed? Can glory emerge from brokenness? The compelling story of an abandoned woman's journey, recorded in Ezekiel 16, provides the setting for one of the clearest & most compelling pictures of the gospel in the Bible!

Wisdom: A Journey in the Right Direction
Peter Krol

We face challenging questions all the time, such as: Which elective should I take next semester? What is my best career option? When should I take the next step with that special someone? Should I obey my parents now that I'm an adult? What part can I play in addressing the world's injustice? In this workshop, we'll take a look at the book of Proverbs, which was handed to us by God for just such situations. By learning what God's wisdom is and how it works, you'll acquire a simple plan for living in a complex world.

Understanding “Faith”: How to Have a Real Relationship with God
David Royes

Christians use a lot of words, but it’s not always clear what they mean. Together we will see that belief in God is much more than sentiment or blind optimism, but an ongoing relationship with Jesus based on His forgiveness.

Weakness: How God Uses Inadequate People to Change the World
Tom Hallman

Do you ever wonder why God chose you? Do you feel inadequate for service in His kingdom? Perhaps you’re even in leadership and regularly feel like the whole thing is about to collapse. If that’s you, there’s good news: you’re exactly the person God is looking for. This session will explore both how and why God changes the world through weak and fearful people like us.

Learn the songs we'll be singing together at the conference!
