Beyond the Campus...Reaching the World

"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV)

Thanks to the hard work of DisicpleMakers' Board of Directors, the DiscipleMakers Alumni Network has gone live! The network will further DiscipleMakers' vision of reaching the world for Christ through its graduates across the globe. Many being DM Alumni themselves, the Board noted, "For students who have graduated from DiscipleMakers fellowships, reaching the campus has grown into reaching the world. This holds significant challenges: friends are dispersed, faith is challenged in new ways, and free time has become ever more elusive. But the command remains, 'Go therefore and make disciples of all nations' (Matt. 28:19).”

The Board envisions that the Network will enable the ministry “to 'return and visit the brothers in every city where we proclaimed the word of the Lord, and see how they are' (Acts 15:36) and to provide Alumni with the opportunity to become partners in DiscipleMakers student ministry...” Whether involved personally or financially, it is the Board's hope that the network provides “Fellowship, encouragement and training to the Alumni...as they continue to live as ambassadors of Christ in their jobs, neighborhoods, families, and churches in order to reach the world for the glory of Christ!"

One way the Board is bringing Alumni together is through Facebook, a strategic, powerful, web-based social networking tool. DiscipleMakers Staff participate in the network and recruit graduating seniors, continuing their investment in them. The DM Special Projects Team is also creating a website to connect visiting Alumni. The Lord is using these resources and our passion to advance His kingdom on campus and beyond.
