Testimony
Marty and I believe reaching the American college campus is an important key to redeeming the culture. In college, students are confronted with a variety of world-views, most critical of Christianity. These young people will be tomorrows leaders. Where will they lead us? Who will give students a genuine encounter with the historical Jesus Christ? By grace, God has raised up DiscipleMakers to partner with local churches to reach young people with a hope for true change and lasting freedom. This hope of redemption is not only for the individual person, but for the family, the community, the nation, and the world. Reaching college students will yield world-changing results! We are confident that God is going to use DiscipleMakers to change the world.
Marty and I met in high school through the ministry of Young Life. We remained friends through college and started dating after I completed raising support for DM staff. Our first assignment was as campus staff at Bloomsburg University (1997-2001). Then in June 2001 we took on an assignment at Gettysburg College and moved to Littlestown Pennsylvania so that we could help start new ministries on unreached campuses in the Mason-Dixon area. During the Spring of 2005, we helped Jeff Cottone plant DM at Shippensburg University.
I received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Bucknell
University in 1996 where I first became involved with DiscipleMakers as a student.
I also received a Master of Divinity from Biblical
Theological Seminary in 2003. In 2005, I was ordained as a minister in
the Susquehanna Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in
America.
We have three children: Jack (born January 2003), Kelly (born November 2004) and Liam (born December 2007).
