Biography

Ben grew up in Ghana, Africa as the son of career missionaries.  During his college years at Penn State University, Ben was profoundly impacted by the ministry of Bill Dripps, the president of DiscipleMakers (DM).  Bill led Bible studies & met regularly with Ben, teaching him to walk with Christ and reach out with the gospel.  In 1998 Ben graduated from PSU with a BS in civil engineering and joined DM.

Elizabeth grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She attended Muhlenberg College, got involved with the DM ministry there and graduated with a BA in history in 1996.   That summer she also joined DM and met Ben at a DM training summer camp.

On Dec 5, 1998, Ben and Elizabeth were married and moved to Lewisburg, PA to minister to college students at Bucknell University.  They also ministered part time at Gettysburg College until fellow DM staff Dave and Marty Kieffer were able to oversee the Gettysburg ministry full-time starting in the fall of 2001.  Ben and Elizabeth moved to State College in Nov 2003 for Ben to assume his second assignment: to help Bill train future team leaders and to serve on the Strategic Initiatives team.

Ben is now serving as DM's chief operating officer.  His main focus is training team leaders within DM and overseeing the operations of the President's Team.  He counts it a privilege to be training and shepherding staff to be disciples of Christ themselves and to make disciples of college students.

While Elizabeth's main focus is training and homeschooling their sons, she also ministers to the wives of team leaders and other staff women in State College as God enables her.

Ben & Elizabeth have five sons: Tyler, Zachary, Judson, Owen, and Levi.  They find great delight in parenting these precious boys!
