Missions has been a part of my life ever since I was little. When I was eight years old my parents became missionaries and moved to Papua New Guinea. I had the privilege of growing up there and only returned to the US to attend college. As I grew up in a Christian home and community, I met Jesus at an early age, but would say that my walk with the Lord was mostly “doing the right thing.” When I arrived at college, I sought out the Christian group on campus and began to attend their meetings. This group was a part of the DiscipleMakers ministry, and through their ministry I grew most in my relationship with the Lord as I began to see how I needed a personal relationship with Jesus. There I began to understand the depths of my sin and my need for a savior through learning how to study the Scripture in depth and applying it to my life. I was impacted greatly through being discipled by older women, the depth of our study of Scripture, and being challenged to learn how to lead a Bible study and disciple younger women.
I graduated from Lafayette College in '05, took a job, and sought the Lord for His direction in my life. My job was fine, but I wanted to do something that I was passionate about and that would minister to people. To make a long story short, the Lord led me to join DiscipleMakers. College was a pivotal time in my life, and I love being a part of the ministry that was so instrumental for me. I was caught by the vision that DiscipleMakers has to raise up men and women who desire to serve Christ with their whole life in order to see the gospel spread throughout the world. I am excited to see how the Lord will use me and grow me as I minister at the DiscipleMakers headquarters and Penn State University. Thank you for all of your prayers and support!
