Investing in Lives
"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on
earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and
steal. But store up for
yourselves treasures in heaven..." Matthew 6:19-20a (ESV)
The world tells us to invest in retirement plans, houses, stock, education, the coolest car, or the latest technological gadget. While these items are not bad and often good to plan for, none of these can come with us after we die.
Jesus encourages us to store up for ourselves treasures in heaven, where thieves and economic fluctuations cannot destroy. Storing treasures, whether on earth or heaven, will not get us into heaven, but for those of us who have trusted in Christ' death and resurrection, we can invest our earthly money in the spiritual realm of what God is doing. We can invest in His kingdom and send our treasures ahead.
DiscipleMakers offers you
the opportunity to partner with us in investing in
transforming college students' lives for God's Kingdom. Stand with us before
the Lord, not with houses, stock, or vacation pictures you cannot bring, but with every life that you contributed to in sharing the gospel.
As part of the body of Christ, Staff and donors partner together to reach college students and change the world.
"Each man should give what he has decided
in his heart to give, not
reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And
God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at
all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good
work." 2 Cor 9:7-8
